Composition
Please see Canvas for due dates
Did you ever look at a photo and think, "that would be so much nicer if...."
Composition is a very important part of creating beautiful imagery. You can make a pencil a piece of art if it is composed correctly. In this lesson, you are going to be asked to watch a video, read some and then make some beautiful art with an ordinary object.

Assignment #1 for Composition
Go to Canvas. Open the assignment page called Composition Part 1. You will write a 2 paragraph essay, answering these questions:
Which composition technique(s) impressed you the most and why? How do you plan to incorporate these techniques into your photography to make you a better photographer? DO NOT REWRITE THE QUESTIONS... answer in full sentences, correct spelling, correct grammar (no lower case "i" for "I" when speaking of yourself)... Write like you are writing for your English Teacher. A paragraph needs to be at least 5 sentences... remember, I'm asking for 2 paragraphs.

Assignment #2 for Composition
This is a CLASSROOM assignment. I will not be checking out cameras for this assignment.
- Find an everyday object - chair, pencil, phone, etc.,...) Take several photos of it in unusual places with different angles and apply what you have learned. Once you feel you have some really good photos, you will need to choose 6 different photos that you will use. Be sure to use the rule of thirds in at least 2-3 photos.
- Open a Photoshop document:
- 11 x 8.5 inches, 300 ppi
- You can make the background whatever color you like
- BE SURE TO USE GUIDELINES so your type and photos do not fall off the page.
- Make whatever corrections you need to make in Photoshop (always save the original - so therefore, if you make changes, do a SAVE AS). In this case, it is okay to take the BW photo with the camera.
- Give your document a title at the top... for instance, James Beltz did his series on THE CHAIR... so his title would be THE CHAIR.
- Place your photos in the document. Be creative.
- At the bottom right, put your name and period number like we have in past assignments.
- Save as .PSD and .JPG. Upload to One Drive... Email or send via OneDrive.
- Name your document: lastname_first initial_composition_pd#.jpg
